Meeting this March 31, 2026, in Antibes, under the presidency of Mrs. Isabelle Berro-Amadeรฏ, Government Counselor – Minister of External Relations and Cooperation of the Principality of Monaco, our Board of Directors validated the major advancements of the past year and ambitious strategic development axes.
The MedFund’s action is measured today by tangible results for the preservation of the Mediterranean:
-
22 Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) supported, spread across 8 countries (Albania, Croatia, Greece, Lebanon, Morocco, Montenegro, Tunisia, Tรผrkiye).
-
9,785 kmยฒ of marine and coastal areas secured.
-
โฌ6.9 million committed over 5 years, of which โฌ3.12 million has already been deployed on the ground.
As proof of the solidity of our trust fund model, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation is renewing its trust and strategic partnership by committing โฌ500,000 for the next 5 years. This investment is decisive to amplify our impact and secure the management of new MPAs.
We extend our sincere thanks to the City of Antibes Juan-les-Pins and the Conservatoire du littoral for welcoming us to Posidonia Espace Mer et Littoral, and for their ongoing commitment to the preservation of the Mediterranean coastline. The success of this scaling up relies on the mobilization of all our partners and donors.
Thank you to all our partners: Global Environment Facility, AFD – Agence Franรงaise de Dรฉveloppement, Fonds franรงais pour l’environnement mondial (FFEM), Gobierno de Espaรฑa, Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, MAVA Foundation, Pew Bertarelli Ocean Legacy, Oceanographic Institute of Monaco, Seaquarium Institut Marin, Hans Wilsdorf Foundation.
